P-51 Modeling Project Underway

Meetings have recently begun to start this semester’s project, a sheet metal model of the P-51! Members have split into two teams to each work separately on completing their respective parts of the project. One group is in charge of modeling, in NX Siemens, the plane’s fuselage and meets Sundays. The other group will be modeling the wings and meets on Thursdays. Each group’s first meetings were used to go over the basics of the sheet metal modeling functions of NX, teaching members who may be unfamiliar with NX or sheet metal and allowing for a little practice before actual parts are produced. SAB Officers hope to have this project completed by the end of the semester, giving the group something to work on while construction of the Zenith is at a halt. More updates shall be made as modeling continues!
