On Saturday, October 5th, SAB travelled to Willard Airport in Savoy to visit the Flightstar maintenance facility. We received an in-depth tour of different hangers used by Flightstar to manage their wide range of commercial and private costumers. Highlights included seeing Bombardier company aircraft ranging from the Learjet to the Dassault Falcon 20, the Institute of Aviation at Parkland College training planes, and plenty of other private model aircraft currently in for service. SAB learned about many of the exterior devices on planes such as the angle of attack indicator, the altitude indicator, radar and many other useful modern-day antennas. Overall, the day was a dream for any aircraft lover and offered an amazing local opportunity to members new and old alike.
